This bear was extremely hard to photograph because of her dark color. The bear is made out of a gorgeous eggplant Schulte mohair, which is 1-1/4" long. I looked through all my usual wool felt and ultrasuede materials, but I couldn�t find anything that would be a suitable color for her paw pads. I ended up looking through my scraps of materials and found a piece of satin in a cranberry/burgundy color. I gave her a simple bow in the same color as her paw pads, as well as a mother-of-pearl pendant which incorporates the same colors as her fur and paw pads.

I have done extensive scissor and needle sculpting to her face and have added some color to bring out her features. She has hand blown glass eyes, to which I have added eyelids. In order to make her eyes stand out more from the dark mohair, I colored them a light silvery lavender. I added a double eyelid on the bottom, which gives her a wonderful, expressive look. Her nose is hand embroidered with pearl cotton.

The bear is about 18" standing (which she does not do by herself) and 12-1/2" sitting. She is five way jointed with hard board disks, locks nuts and a cotter pin in her neck. She has a pouch of copper BB�s in her belly for some added weight. I have also wired her arms so she has more pose-ability. As with all my creations, she does not have a name. Since she is being adopted, it is up to her new mother or father to give her a name they deem appropriate.

My soft sculptures are adult collectibles and not suitable for small children and are made with the finest materials and are designed and completely hand made by me. All of my creations are one-of-a-kind and take me several days to complete, as I am meticulous in my construction and detail. I will not offer any soft sculpture for sale until I am completely happy with it.
