Since I rarely make a bear for a specific holiday, I do try to make bears that will fit in with the theme of a holiday but not be too specific. That way, you can keep the bear on display year.

This little girl is dressed in one of my many vintage doll dresses. This one is probably not as old as some of my others, because it is permanent press and has velcro fasteners on the back. It does open completely down the back to make it easy to dress and undress her. It is an adorable pink dress with lace at the sleeves and neck, and a subtle flower print. I placed a red bow at the waist of the dress and placed a red chiffon bow on top of her head for that little girl look. Her companion bear is not a bear I made, but a small Cottage Collectible designed by Sue Coe. I replaced the ribbon around his neck to match the ribbon on the front of her dress.

The bear is made out of a gray colorblend Schulte mohair. I have done extensive scissor and needle sculpting to her face and have added some color to bring out her features. She has hand blown glass eyes, to which I have added eyelids. I added a double eyelid on the bottom, which gives her a wonderful, expressive look. Her nose is hand embroidered with pearl cotton.

The bear is about 15" standing (which she does not do by herself) and 10" sitting. She is five way jointed with hard board disks, locks nuts and a cotter pin in her neck. She has a pouch of copper BB�s in her belly for some added weight. She has wool felt paw pads, which have been sculpted and shaded. I have also wired her arms so she has more pose-ability. As with all my creations, she does not have a name. Since she is being adopted, it is up to her new mother or father to give her a name they deem appropriate.

My soft sculptures are adult collectibles and not suitable for small children and are made with the finest materials and are designed and completely hand made by me. All of my creations are one-of-a-kind and take me several days to complete, as I am meticulous in my construction and detail. I will not offer any soft sculpture for sale until I am completely happy with it.
