I�m pleased to present my new creations of the �Igel� hedgehog family:

Mama Irina & Baby Boris.

Irina & Boris have been entirely designed and hand crafted by myself. I always sew my creations by hand, using my own original designs.

Irina measures 20 cm (about 8 inches) and baby Boris measures 11 cm (a little more than 4 inches).

I have made them using a 23mm hedgehog mohair from Schulte for the spiky part, and a 15-20mm very dense luxury faux fur for their belly and legs. Boris� little feet and tiny ears are of ultra suede. Also Irina�s inner ears are of ultra suede.

They both have German glass eyes, a polymer clay sculpted nose and a needle felted face.

Boris� V-shaped hairline has been obtained through mohair rooting into the needle felted forehead.

Legs, face and inner ears are oil shaded. Irina�s arms and legs have been extensively scissor sculpted.

Irina has an internal body wiring that gives her a wider range of posing possibilities, enabling her head to move up and down, and her body to partially fold. Also her arms are wired and can be delicately bended.

Both hedgehogs are four ways cotter pin jointed (arms and legs) and stuffed with wool and encased mica granules that give them some nice added weight.

Mother and son own a felt hearts mat that I specially embroidered for them. They also always travel with their birth certificates.

My creations have very distinctive birth certificates: they are always made in matching style and materials. I always use a piece of their own fur, it is a sort of DNA proof! On the birth certificate I state Name, Date of birth, and the initials FB, that are my signature.

Irina & Boris are not meant for children, but only as a collector item.
