7 inches (17.7 centimeters)

Charles is crocheted from a 2-strand yarn: a rose colored "regular" thin strand and a thin strand of a feathery fuzzy yarn. The result is a very unique "fur" which is fun to brush with a wire brush (cat brush). This little guy is very different from my other crocheted bears and quite unique.

Charles is one-of-a-kind and stands 7 inches tall. His head is cotter pin jointed, his limbs are thread jointed. The eyes are premium black German glass eyes, his nose is a shiny black glass nose. Paw Pads and ears are made from suede-like fabric with needle sculpting. Gentle shading with dry oil paints brings out his features.

His accessories include a tiny key on a leather string and a paper hat.

Bearkidz-babies are one-of-a-kind (ooak), crocheted without use of any pattern by me, award winning artist Marion Fraile. I sculpt my bears giving them their shape during the process of crocheting by adjusting and changing the number of stitches used. I never use a pattern but rather use my sense for proportions. Long hours are spent to finish a bear. I dont have a piece of fabric to work with but rather have to create my fabric with many, many tiny stitches, stitch by stitch. Mainly for this reason I am only able to make a very limited number of bears annually. Whenever I start crocheting a new bearkidz I start by selecting fibers/threads which I believe will make an interesting fur. Very often I combine completely different colors to achieve the most unique coat. Sometimes a thread has tiny color dots or occasionally comes with a shiny metallic thread worked in.
