When I make a bear, it is hard to say that the bear is going to be a boy or a girl before I start. However, as the bear evolves, it definitely takes on its own personality. And this bear�s face turned out to be a definite girl with a definite attitude.

This little girl is dressed in one of my many vintage doll dresses. It is a mommy-made (or grandmother-made) dress of real dotted Swiss in a light blue and cream with lace trim and is in very good vintage condition considering its age. The dress opens completely down the back and fastens with snaps. I placed a couple of matching blue bows by her ears to give her that real girlie look. She is holding her own well-loved and well-patched teddy, which was not made by me but was manufactured by Ganz.

The bear is made out of a honey blonde Schulte mohair. I have done extensive scissor and needle sculpting to her face and have added some color to bring out her features. She has hand blown glass eyes, to which I have added eyelids. I added a double eyelid on the bottom, which gives her a wonderful, expressive look. Her nose is hand embroidered with pearl cotton.

The bear is about 15-1/2" standing (which she does if balanced very carefully) and 9-1/2" sitting. She is five way jointed with hard board disks, locks nuts and a cotter pin in her neck. She has a pouch of copper BB�s in her belly for some added weight. She has wool felt paw pads, which have been sculpted and shaded. I have also wired her arms so she has more pose-ability. As with all my creations, she does not have a name. Since she is being adopted, it is up to her new mother or father to give her a name they deem appropriate.

My soft sculptures are adult collectibles and not suitable for small children and are made with the finest materials and are designed and completely hand made by me. All of my creations are one-of-a-kind and take me several days to complete, as I am meticulous in my construction and detail. I will not offer any soft sculpture for sale until I am completely happy with it.
