Meet my biggest bear to date, Pluto! He needed a planetary name as he’s so big!
This chunky guy is made from a seriously dense and long Tissavel fabric. It was so dense I have to see him on friends industrial sewing machine! His fur feels devine, you can loose your hands in it.

He is a one off, as there is no more of this amazing Tissavel fabric. Though it took so much time to work with I don’t think I would want to attempt it again anyway.

His body has a full internal skeleton, with a loc line spine, strong wire in his limbs. Using 4 specially made 6mm thick birch wood disk joints in his limbs. He has a full set of polymer clay claws, wired in, and joined to the armature, each one can be individually moved. His squashy pads are hand sewn from Italian leather, stuffed and pulled. He has extensive needle and scissor sculpting to his head, and layers of ink to tone his face. His beautiful big nose finishes his look, it’s hand sculpted directly onto his muzzle from apoxy clay, on a needle felted base. He’s wonderfully poseable, able to move in lots of ways. He even has wired ears to make lots of adorable expressions. I had such fun photographing him.

He’s a big boy, weighing in at nearly 5kg. Filled with soft pellets and steel shot, heavy and soft filling were needed.
