How to make a Bom Bom Elephant in the style of a vintage toy.

In this master class, I will show you the basic skills of making a viscose toy.
This MC is suitable for artists of all experience levels, even if you have never made soft toys before.

This is the first and, so far, the only MC where I share and show in detail my method of aging.

In this course:

· I show and explain how to make an elephant on wheels by following the step by step video.
· I'll show you how I sew and stuff the toy with sawdust.
· For the first time I show my author's technique for creating sculptural forms of the face and body.
· For the first time I show and explain my method of how to age a viscose toy step by step, how to create:
- Worn bold patches which look naturally old,
- antique plaque,
- tangled, worn type of viscose pile,
- "saggy, tired" figures and clothes/accessories.
· I show how to visually combine the colours and shapes of toys and clothes/accessories.

As a result of viewing this course, you will understand the process of creating a toy, and will see in detail:

Stitching:

I'll show you the hand stitch that I use to sew toy pieces together. You can either use only hand stitch, sewing machine, or a combination. I'll show you how I sew so that the seam is strong enough not to be broken during stuffing.

I will teach you how to sew on soles, I use the same method for all my toys, and it works for even the smallest feet.

I will show you how to attach ears and tails quickly and very easily.

Stuffing (with sawdust):

You will learn how to stuff an intricately shaped toy, how to stuff very narrow parts (the body) this will help you to further stuff small parts for miniature toys in your own projects.

I explain what the stuffing density and other nuances should be, show how to evenly stuff the parts and, most importantly, how to correct mistakes that will happen.

Aging Toys and Accessories:

My technique is very simple, it allows you to get a toy that looks NATURALLY old. I share my thoughts on how time affects the fabric and shape of the toy and how scuffs are formed. These simple techniques are the result of 12 years of trial and error. After watching this MC you will have a clear idea of how to age and what result to strive for.

I will show you how to give a "saggy, tired" shape to the body, ears, and accessories. After watching this tutorial you will have knowledge that you can apply to any toy you make in the future.

I will teach you how to sculpt a face - creating eye sockets, cheeks, etc.

Assembly of wheels and axles:

After watching this tutorial, you will learn an easy way to create wheels on axles from materials you may have available. You can apply this method to any of your soft toys or any other project you have.

Assembly of toys:

I will show you how to give the toy its final look. You will learn how to attach accessories (a hat and a blanket) as if they have been on an elephant for the last hundred years, all grown old together.

You will see how I give the elephant balance (stability).

As a result of viewing the MC:
