Ever wanted to make a big, fat hunk of a bear!? Well this is the fellow for you!

This design is a little more complicated than some of our beginner patterns, but if you've made a bear before, especially one of our easier designs, then you'll be totally fine with this one.

This bear looks great in both short and long fur, mohair, alpaca and even faux fur. ***The Bears in the example photos have all been made from this pattern to show how versatile it is ***

[THE STATS:]

This bear ends up approx 17" tall when standing, or approx 11" in sitting position.

You will need:

- At least 50cm x 90cm of fur (the closest standard size is a 1/2m)
- 10-14mm eyes (either black or they can be hand-painted)
- 1 piece of Paw pad material (approx a 1/16m piece – 25cm x 35cm) or you can cut the paw pads from the fur and trim it back.
- 60-65mm joint set for limbs (45mm joint size best for neck joint)
- Embroidery thread for the nose/toes
- approx 600g of stuffing depending on how firmly you fill your bear and 200-400g of bead shot if you's like to add weighting.

Suitable for intermediate bear making skills. The pattern is not terribly difficult, but it will help to have some bear making experience. Instructions are included for the 3D toe effect as well.

Comes with detailed, step by step instructions and photos of finished bears for reference.

All pieces are at correct size - no enlarging or reducing required. The fat body shape is larger then an A4 piece of paper though, so is included in two pieces. You can join them to make a single body piece, or keep the pieces separate and cut them from different colours of fur.
