Paris is a Pierrot clown mime artist who entertains at seaside resorts/masquerades. She loves performing by the sea, it gives her energy & drives her passion. After her mimes she loves nothing better than to watch & listen to the sea from her small house on the beach way into the night. She would love to entertain you & bring you fish & chips!
Paris is 18” tall & sits at around 11.5”. She is made from gorgeous curly pink mohair which I have aged with copics & oil pastels. Paris’ eyes are English glass & her nose is embroidered in with two tone Perle thread.
Her Pierrot clown outfit is satin & cotton with pink vintage velvet buttons. Studded with pearls & precious gems.
Paris has aged blue paw pads with anchor design & her feet have added pink tulle & vintage pink velvet.
Hello! My name is Maxine & I live in the U.K.
I've been creating bears & other animals since 2014 but most of my regular makes have been since 2016.
I started with collecting bears & this gave me the inspiration to create my own.
I find it extremely relaxing to handsew & find bearmaking great therapy. I get so excited & find such joy in creating these special soft sculptures, especially when their new owners fall in love!!
I especially love the way my bears have a life & mind of their own. I have a picture in my mind of how I would like a bear to look but the bears dictate which way they want to go with this & I follow. This part of the make process is very appealing to me.
I don't have any one particular style, I just go with my mood. I may wish to create a big fluffy bear in gorgeous faux fur or a smaller primitive bear made from tactile viscose & mohair. I often pair furs together & use antique fabric for a beautiful look & touch. I do like to weight all my bears & critters with steel shot for that extra wonderful feel.
I hope you enjoy looking at my creations. They are all made with much love & heart.
All my makes are OOAK & 5 way jointed. They are sometimes wired for posing.
I would love to hear from you if you have any questions or comments!
