Sweet Gerda is sewn from antique viscose Steiff Schulte and leather She is tinted with oil paint to accentuate her thoughtful expression. Her joints are: mounts, round disks, and pins (her head can swing). She is lovingly filled with the smallest sawdust and steel granules for a pleasant hand feel. Gerda can stand without support so you may pose her as you like.
Gerda’s eyes are glass lamp work and hand-painted by me. Her eyelids are made from leather. The nose is stitched with cotton thread and waxed to a natural finish.

All of Gerda’s clothing is hand sewn from only natural fibres: silk, cotton, linen, batiste, cotton, and antique silk and cotton laces. All clothing is removable and may be dry cleaned. The print on her skirt is drawn by hand

Both laces are antique (100+ years) and made in France!

She will arrive to you in a safe and sturdy, cardboard box. But inside, Gerda will be lovingly packed in her own, beautiful wooden box that contains her passport.
