This lovely jointed mohair blondie is weighted inside and stuffed a little softer in the tummy, which, along with her 21 inch stature, assures she will deliver warm, cozy hugs. Darla’s face is shaded and enhanced with sealed-in colors and luminous custom colored glass eyes. Her features are embroidered, partially waxed and buffed to a soft sheen. Darla’s specially treated leathery paws and feet are needle-sculpted, colored and neatly scissor-trimmed. Circling Darla’s head is a colorful hand-crocheted flower garland of vintage threads. At her neck is a pin-backed crocheted brooch endowed with a sparkling vintage button and anchored to a soft hand-dyed silk ribbon. Her multi-layered skirt/apron begins with an under layer of tawny colored tulle, topped by gathers of fine lace and a repurposed vintage pastel hankie. The apron is finished with a small spray of vintage posies at the waist, and tied with a silk ribbon bow at the back. Sweet Darla is a veritable picture of soft femininity.
