Hi! My name is Eva Casstevens (formerly Eva Baldwin) and I have been designing and making antique style teddy bears since 1993. Formerly I called my teddies Baldwin Bears but with my name change, I changed the name of my teddies to Pawsitively Primitives. I design and make all of my antique style teddies. I especially love to make "attic teds"; teddies that look as though they've been unearthed from a trunk in Grandma's attic! I strive to give them a kind, empathetic expression and a love-worn appearance as though they were once someone's beloved companion. I use both English and German mohair as well as other materials such as upholstery velvet and muslin. My teddies gaze sweetly at you through blown glass or antique shoebutton eyes. I embroider their tender expressions and their claws with pearl cotton. Their pawpads are usually merino wool felt, but occasionally I use other materials. Teddies are stuffed with excelsior, polyfil, poly pellets, or a combination of those materials. All of my bears now days are one-of-a-kind.
