Baby Calvin By Margaret Burke-Nikkel Bears 14 inches (35.5 centimeters) OOAK Custom order for a brand-new baby boy! Made from luxurious dense pile crisp white mohair, Baby Calvin stands (assisted at 14", but has been designed to sit at 12"). His ultrasuede trapunto-style paws have been meticulously airbrushed to create a 3-D effect, and I have created leather claws which I have also shaded to match his paws. Baby Calvin's English glass eyes were custom hand-painted in shades of sky blue, black with silver sparkle highlights, and have been set in ultrasuede eyelids which I have dry-brushed with oil paints to create depth. His face has been extensively needlesculpted and shaded by dry-brushing with several shades of oil paints. His clay nose has also been hand-sculpted and shaded to compliment his fur. Baby Calvin's sleeping cap and baby blanket were made by me using cute animal print fabric and edged in sparkling orange sequinned braid. A cream-coloured silken tassel hangs delicately from gold and wooden beads at the end of his sleeping cap. He also wears a hand-crafted crocheted baby bib accessorised with a clay teddy bear and pacifier - blue of course, for boys!!! Alphabet beads spell out his name around his neck, and he also hugs his own tiny plush teddy bear. Like all Nikkel Bears, Baby Calvin has been created in a smoke-free environment and is intended as a collectable, not a childs toy.
