CHERISH By Margaret Burke-Nikkel Bears 9 inches (22.8 centimeters) Introducing little Cherish, an adorable OOAK fairy panda designed to sit at 9" and who can stand assisted at 12". Cherish has been hand-sewn from white and watermelon coloured hand-dyed long-pile mohair, with trapunto style paw pads made from ultrasuede which I have airbrushed in deep red, watermelon and black to contrast against her fur. Her English glass eyes have been meticulously hand-painted in shades of slate grey, copper and silver which have been set in shaded ultrasuede eyelids. I have extensively needlesculpted and scissor sculpted her face to give a winsome look, and she is my first bear with a baked clay sculpted nose. Filled with polyester and a little steel shot for weight, Cherish is 5-way jointed with cotter pin neck and locknut limbs. Her arms have been wired to allow her to be posed in various positions. Like all fairies, Cherish has sparkling gossamer wings which perfectly match the colour of her fur, and she wears a hand-made necklet of white and metallic coloured thread from which hangs an exquisite bejewelled butterfly. I made her little antennae from deep cherry coloured Swarovski crystals. Cherish was an exclusive custom order and is no longer available for sale - however, I would be pleased to hear from you if you would like a similar type bear or panda as Cherish.
