Please meet �Trumpet�, inspired by the wonderful story of Alice�s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
Trumpet has a finely detailed hand painted �Bear Belly� of the White Rabbit from Alice�s Adventures in Wonderland which appears in:

Chapter XI, Who Stole the Tarts?

On this the White Rabbit blew three blasts on the trumpet, and then unrolled the parchment scroll, and read as follows:--

�The Queen of Hearts, she made some tarts,
All on a summer day.
The Knave of Hearts, he stole those tarts,
And took them quite away!�

The miniature illustration I have painted is approximately 6cms in diameter and is painted with a 5x0 paintbrush, which allows me to paint with the finest of details. Her feet have the White Rabbit�s poem painted in a calligraphic script. This is painted in acrylic paint and varnished in several layers to give the artwork protection.

Trumpet is Number 56 in the Bear Belly Series and is numbered, named and signed on the canvas around the painting and comes with a Bears of Bath Numbered and Signed Certificate.

'Trumpet' is approx 21 cms tall and is made from long, sparse natural (white) Helmbold mohair, with french pink sparse mohair on her ears. She is fully cotterpin jointed with 7mm black glass eyes. She has raw silk on her paws and is filled using quality heavy polyester stuffing with some plastic pellets for added weight. Her nose is embroidered with brown thread. Her foot pads and belly are painted and varnished canvas. Her foot pads are painted gold with black calligraphic text painted ontop. She has scissor sculpted features which have been hand painted to give shading to her face. She also has a little mohair tail :)

Hand painted onto heavy, top quality, artists cotton canvas the painting is tough and durable, however machine washing is not recommended. The canvas is fully primed using several layers and then painted with quality Daler acrylics.The painting also has several layers of varnish to seal and protect the painting.

The canvas has no noticable odour and is quite flexible.
Repeat copies of this design can be supplied on request if required.

Bears of Bath is a member of the Guild of Master Bear Crafters
& a finalist of the British Bear Artist Awards 2007
Bears of Bath has also appeared in Teddy Bear Club International.
